About the community
Who can join Paxio Community?
Adults aged 18 and over. Anyone can read the discussions without an account. To start a discussion, reply or report a post you need to sign in.
Is Paxio Community free?
Yes. Reading and posting are free, and there is nothing to buy.
Do I need the Paxio app to take part?
No. The community is open to every parent. Paxio is a parental control app for Android, but you do not need it or any other app to read or post here.
Who runs the community?
The Paxio team, who build the Paxio parental control app. The team moderates the discussions and the community guidelines apply to everyone, including staff.
Signing in and your name
How do I sign in?
Use your Google account or ask for an email sign-in link. There is no password to create or remember.
Can other members see my email address?
No. Other members only see the display name you choose. Your email address is held by the sign-in service (Firebase Authentication) and is never shown in the forum.
What display name should I use?
Pick a name of 3 to 24 characters that does not identify your child, and avoid your full real name if you prefer privacy. Names that include Paxio, admin, moderator, staff or support are reserved.
Posting
What can I post about?
Anything about parenting, from newborns to teens: sleep, food, school, health, behaviour, family life, screen time and online safety. If nothing fits, choose Other.
Why was my post rejected?
A post is rejected if the title or message is too short or too long (titles 5 to 120 characters, discussions up to 5,000 characters, replies up to 2,000), if it contains an email address or phone number, if it has more than 2 links, or if it looks like promotion.
Are there posting limits?
Yes, to keep spam out. Each member can start up to 5 new discussions a day and write up to 20 replies an hour.
Can I share photos or details about my child?
The community is text only. Please never share a child's name, photo, school, address or anything else that could identify them. Describe the situation without the personal details.
Can I edit or delete my posts?
Yes. Use Edit or Delete on your own posts and replies. Edited posts show an "edited" tag. You can also manage everything from My posts.
Can I get medical or legal advice here?
No. Members share experience, not professional advice. For medical, mental-health or legal concerns, speak to a qualified professional or your local emergency services if it is urgent.
Safety and moderation
How do I report a post?
Open the post, choose Report and pick a reason. Posts reported by three different members are hidden automatically until a moderator has looked at them.
How does moderation work?
Moderators can hide or remove posts and restrict accounts that break the community guidelines. You can read the rules on the guidelines page.
Is the community suitable for children?
No. It is written for adults, and children should not have accounts. Discussions are not curated for young readers.
Privacy and your account
What information is public?
Your display name and the discussions and replies you write are public, and search engines may index them. Your email address is not shown.
How do I delete my account?
Open My posts and choose Delete my account, then type DELETE to confirm. Your sign-in is removed and your replies are deleted. Discussions that have replies stay as "Deleted user" with the text removed, and discussions without replies are deleted.
